HI, I’M JENNY!

My name is Jenny Guarino. I grew up in the South Bay, and have lived in the Bay Area for most of my life. I’m an elected Head Steward for UAW 4811 Academic Student Employees at UC Berkeley, and I fight every day to make sure that workers are paid fairly, have safe working conditions, and are treated with respect. I’m excited to extend this fight to the people of Berkeley.

I’m a Masters student at the Goldman School of Public Policy, specializing in affordable housing and urban policy. Housing policy and tenants rights have long been a passion of mine, and I’ve been the point person from UAW for the Berkeley Tenant Protection and Right to Organize Ballot Measure, which will also appear on the November ballot as Measure BB. I’m very involved in local and state politics through UAW 4811’s Political Organizing Committee, in which I help guide our union’s endorsement of candidates and ballot measures, including the Berkeley Tenant Protection and Right to Organize Act, and frequently lobby in Sacramento for statewide bills focusing on labor, higher ed, and environmental policy.
